Tadi kita ngah baca2 kat RYC nye website terserempak pulak satu article ni. Very relevant untuk belia2 jadi I'm gonna put this up here. Oh, Fityan Ghufran was mentioned! Cheybah! Canne agaknya satu asatizah ni tau eh agaknya...
Ramadhan Mubarak, dear frens. Today’s the sixth day of Ramadhan, and Alhamdulillah, we are blessed with longevity, and given the chance to meet with Ramadhan 1428H. =)
Just the other day, I attended the Mosque Madrasah Convention, held by MUIS to introduce the workplan and implementation of the new SIES program and the theme was “Building a Resilient Youth” (Membina Belia Berdaya Tahan).
Resilient? Wah, that’s a big word.
According to Wikipedia, resilience generally means the ability to recover from (or to resist being affected by) some shock, insult, or disturbance. In other words, it means standing firm, and holding on to our beliefs, no matter what the situation might be.
Times have gone through a major change. And I really mean, major. Asatizahs are now getting younger and younger; methods of teaching have hence been more practical, and students are getting bolder and bolder. They become more vocal and not afraid to voice out their opinions; asking baffling questions. Being a young (and modern!) Asatizah myself, it is definitely a challenge as you have to be readily prepared to answer their questions, as they look up to you as their “dictionary”; someone, who can quench their inquisitive thirst. Resilience, in my case, is to keep myself up to date with knowledge and constantly upgrading myself to be prepared to “counter-attack” their taunts and enquiries.
I saw my friend, Muhammad, off and I overheard a non-Muslim friend tell him, “Eh mamat, u very suay lah bro. Kena NS fasting that tyme. Haha.” The poor fella, dari semangat-semangat nak berjuang untuk negara, tiba-tiba looked so despondent. Kesian pulak tengok dia. Before he took the ferry to Tekong, I passed him a small gift. I told him that patience and forbearance will help a lot, and that my little gift, will definitely help him in a way or two. When he saw the gift, I swear I saw his tears well up. (Ed: Kuikuikui! Romantic gak time posa posa nie.. Boleh buat skrip drama yer.. :P)
Yes, many of you would have guessed it right. I gave him the NS Guidebook for Muslims which was distributed by PERDAUS. I salute brother Ikram and his team, who came up with the NS Guidebook for Muslims, that green book, small, but MasyaAllah, the information inside, was so helpful, especially now that it is the fasting month (even I, a girl, was enticed to read it till the end). Brother Ikram together with his good friend, managed to portray how even during warfare and in the midst of fasting under the scorching sun, one can still be a resilient Muslim.
Being a Muslim youth in this contemporary era is not easy I must say. There are definitely a lot of setbacks and obstacles along the way, tu sudah pasti. Yang penting, is our ability to stay resilient as a true Muslim throughout.
5 possible ways of the resilient Muslim: (eh macam mosque pulak eh)
- During Ramadhan, one has to train one’s senses, especially the mind. Even if the apek taxi yammers on and on, and kite tak kuasa nak layan, senyum aje.
- Sesungguhnya solat itu wajib! Tak buat dosa! No reason for you not to perform solat (guys). Sebab kat tepi laut guna air laut pon leh solat tau. Tak caye? Tanye Fityan Ghufran. Dorang penah buat. Hehe.
- Islamize our eyes and mouth to coordinate. Kalau naik MRT TERnampak perempuan sexy ke, lelaki hot ke, alihkan pandangan mata ke lain, mulut pula sebutkan istighfar. Jangan pulak mata melekat, mulut ternganga. Wrong coordination style. (ed: Ahem! Yang paling best, bagi kiter2 yang naik MRT gi kerja/sekolah everyday, tutup mata… Tido.. Kira ibadah tuu…)
- NO REASON FOR NOT ATTENDING FRIDAY PRAYERS, dengan alasan tak bawak kain lah, seluar kotor lah. Please eh adik-adik sayang, kat masjid dah ada kain pelikat dan songkok, suci dan bersih boleh digunakan untuk solat.
- Sentiasa ada rasa I-slam, I-man & I-hsan dalam diri. Memperbanyakkan muhasabah diri during the bus ride home ke, the long journey to school or work. Jangan asyek I-pod aje yang ada dalam diri. (dan telinga). (Ed: Tapi dalam Ipod dengar Ayat suci Al Quran okey la)
So, kalau nak tambah lagi, possible ways of the resilient Muslim, sila comment jangan malu malu. Orang tua-tua kata, boleh lokek harta, jangan lokek Ilmu, tak berkat tau!
Wallahua’lam Bissawab.

Anyway kan.. Ade lagi satu article below this article. Ada comment by Ed: "Article should be taken with a pinch of salt and pepper dan digaul dengan bubur masjid [baru sedap]" Kwang3!
