Argh! I have so many things on my mind now that I can't concentrate! There's so many things due over these two weeks, almost every other day!

And I'm still thinking of my laundry. If my clothes don't dry by tmr night, I'd have nothing appropriate to wear on Wednesday. I certainly don't wanna wear my pyjamas ehh...

I just went for NTUMS usrah for adhoc teams. Only Rahmah and I turned up, along with Sis Nabilah & Khadijah representing the exco and Kak Zu was our naqibah. It was certainly a pleasure to meet Kak Zu again! And it was really nice to sit in an usrah session again, but I guess the ice hasn't been broken and it was still a little awkward. And I dunno! I didn't seem to absorb anything, cos if I did, I wouldn't feel so stressed right now with the workload that I'm facing, since the theme just now was stress management!!! Hmm...

I'm very tired right now. And really, all I did tonight was to list down my things-to-do for school (which means it excludes my hall chores like MY LAUNDRY and FOC stuff), read one slide, skim through ALS and yeah... that's it. Argh!!!! *panic attack*

And it's so coldddddd :( I guess I prefer cold than hot but it really is cold. I'm wearing my shawl, and turned down the fan to no. 4 oredi... Brrr... I feel that putting four more extra layers of clothing and selubung myself in a comfy quilt, which I don't have btw...

And there are some things bugging me at the back of my head, I can't concentrate!! I'm so sleepy seh... But I'd feel that I'd just wasted tonight :(

And quite a number of times, I hit the wound on my ankle, ow ow... Still I'm sure I'm faring so much better than the silat peeps :(

So many :(... La tahzan Marl la tahzan...

I think I'm deeply affected by the FOC prog meeting I had this afternoon... No one was in the mood for it. Truth be told, I wasn't in the mood for it either. Plus, two programmers couldn't make it last minute, with valid reasons uh... And I dunno, I just feel that I lacked direction today, and have thus failed mself... I just feel demoralised by it. I really did badly in chairing the meeting today... Cannot arh... Where's the enthusiasm people?? If people keep sending me negative vibes, it's hard for me to remain positive... I may very well cancel next week's meeting and resume after exams. Afterall, what's the point of having a meeting when everyone's heart and mind is elsewhere, it'll just waste everyone's time and make everyone more grumpy and make me more demoralised. I keep wondering, how did I end up accepting the head prog's role again??? I was so keen on rejecting it during the interview seh... Urgh. Why can't I say 'NO'??

I need to revise the timeline for prog...

But right now, either I take a rest and wake up early tmr and get some things done or I'd better get some things done NOW.

I think I'm going vegetarian tmr... Maybe for the whole week... I should bring my laptop and ensure I get something done EVERYDAY.

La tahzan Marl la tahzan!!!!!!

I dunno why I call myself Marl, when I really prefer people to call me Liyana...

Ok, I should stop ranting like... NOW

Orang Ketiga

Marliyana ada banyak cerita niari. Marliyana tak tau nak mula dari mana. Random k.

Marliyana lapar. satu hari cuma makan kuih belanda (yang biscuit roll tu), nasi minyak pat jemputan tengahari tadi dan 1 roti sardine bersalut telur. Tapi kat rumah tinggal maggi je and Marliyana ngah pikir banyak-banyak kali pasal MSG dalam maggi. Marliyana taknak jadi bodoh. Marliyana suka jadi pandai.

Marliyana niari bangun awal. Pukul 2 pagi bangun belajar Tafsir, pukul 4 tertido, pukul 5 bangun balik, pukul 6 tertido, pukul 7 bangun balik. Alhamdulillah dapat habis 90% ulangkaji, tapi bila duduk untuk exam tu cam tak tahu cammane nak apply. Lagi-lagi kertas 2, closed book, dia mintak hukum yang rajih (ni ok jugak) berserta hujjah-hujjah ulama'-ulama'! Nama ulama' semua dah mixed up, apa tak nye ada agaknya 20-30 hukum. Nak hafal ayat-ayat Qur'an & hadith-hadith tak kesampaian, jadi exam tu tulis ajelah sehampir mungkin dengan dall-dalil yang ingat. Tak exact words.

Exam tafsir tu kat Jurong West, dekat dengan NTU/NIE. Lepas kertas 1, Marliyana langsung mulakan Kertas 2, tanpa rehat 1/2 jam seperti lazimnya sebab Marliyana nak cepat. Lepas Kertas 2, Marliyana singgah asrama jap, pastu ikut parents gi jemputan kat Chai Chee. Gitu lah namanya.

Lepas Zohor, Marliyana gi madrasah pat Tampines pulak, untuk Kertas Kepimpinan Dalam Islam. Marliyana rasa Kertas 1 okeh, tapi sebahagian daripada Kertas 2 susah sangat. Marliyana main hentam aje.

At last, mak Marliyana belanja beli 2 pyjamas, sebab pyjamas yang ada dah tinggalkan kat asrama. $6 kat lelong, murah lah tu.

Malam, Marliyana ikut mak dan makcik Marliyana jalan-jalan kat Tampines. Nak katakan shopping, boleh jugak arh. Marliyana beli 2 kasut & 1 seluar tracks. Memang dah lama nak beli kasut, untuk pakaian semi-formal kat sekolah & untuk bila pakai jubah (tak senonoh gitu pakai jubah abistu pakai kasut $6.90 yang mak label sebagai 'kasut nyonya' yang Marliyana biasa pakai tu), jadi bila ada kasut semurah $10.80 & $15.90, Marliyana belilah.

Itu je kejadian hari ni sebenarnya...

Tapi adalah hal-hal lain. Marliyana masih memikirkan tentang apa yang Marliyana 'belajar' Jumaat & Sabtu lalu. Walaupun Marliyana belum dapat menerima semuanya dan memberikan kata akhir, sekurang-kurangnya, Marliyana rasa Marliyana dah mempunyai suatu pendirian yang sesuai buat masa ni, supaya tak terlalu stress fikirkan ni.

Marliyana rasa Marliyana banyak stress kebelakangan ni. Sebab asyik pening-pening kepala macam migraine. Nak jumpa doktor macam tak perlu, tapi takut jugak kalau ada apa-apa tak kena. Semoga dijauhkan sebarang penyakit dan musibah. Amin. Lebih-lebih lagi Marliyana baru-baru ni dengar cerita ada orang sakit-sakit kepala, rupanya darah tinggi sampai satu hari tahap tekanan darahnya terlalu tinggi sehingga urat dalam otak pecah menyebabkan stroke sebelah badan dan kehilangan kebolehan untuk berkata-kata.

Oh, kelmarin bila Marliyana pergi Body Worlds, Science Centre & Imax Theatre dengan Harizah & Mahmudah, case kamera Marliyana hilang. Dah cari & dah laporkan, sekarang Marliyana redha & tawakkal sahaja.

Jadi Marliyana buat bodoh. Serba salah pulak rasanya. Tapi Marliyana benar-benar ada hal Selasa malam ni... Memang boleh skip, tapi... entah. sememangnya Marliyana serba salah.

Besok malam kawan Marliyana nak pergi Laos, bukan untuk Sea Games, tapi untuk buat kebajikan. Marliyana rasa Marliyana nak hantar dia sampai airport. Marliyana suka jalan-jalan kat airport sebenarnya. Marliyana rindu sangat nak naik kapal terbang... tapi...

Parents Marliyana dah benarkan Marliyana bercuti dengan kawan sepanjang dua minggu ke Australia bulan Jun depan. Marliyana pon dah bilang kawan Marliyana tu. Lagipun keluarga Marliyana sedang menghadapi sedikit kesempitan wang jugak, jadi... yelah...

Tapi Marliyana sedih jugaklah. Dah ghairah sungguh...

Marliyana tak selesalah nak langkah naik motor semua depan lelaki...

Marliyana singgah kedai singtel & Starhub tadi.

Kelmarin Marliyana berasa ghairah tentang Persantren Kilat.

Marliyana tak tau kenapa alih-alih Marliyana blog sebegini. Marliyana memang rasa lain semacam gitu, tapi tak apalah. Marliyana dah ngantok. Dah lebih satu jam Marliyana taip. Marliyana nak tido. Marliyana dah penat berfikir. Marliyana nak shut-down buat beberapa jam...

Hearts Entwined

Saturday, January 24, 2009

I love my dear sisters, ALL of you!!

I feel closer to Allah in your company, for our discussions are filled with mentions of Him, reminders of Him, tales of His mercy and tales of His wrath. When we part, I feel lost again and cannot wait for the next time we shall meet up to be reminded more of Him. We come together for Him and we part too for Him, insyaAllah, in the hope He'll bring us together again soon enough.

MasyaAllah, I feel our hearts have entwined in a single love for Him.

The feeling is plain beautiful. And that's just how I like things. Simple yet elegant/beautiful :)

Take care my dear sisters. May peace be upon you... May Allah bless you and whatever you do...

I miss my old favourite songs, and therefore I shall change my imeem player back. To those of you non-Muslim friends who visit these blog, you can pause the player if you don't feel comfortable. Afterall, I too would do the same if I'm not comfortable with your songs :)

The previous song I put was:

Loire - Andrey Cechelero

I wonder what's happening in Gaza. I'd been getting daily 'doses' of news bits from TODAY on the way to work. And I haven't read any newspaper today, so yeah...

I hope the Palestinians get a bit of relieve with the 3hr daily ceasefire...

Anyway, there was an article in Berita Harian a few days ago about 'understanding' why the Jews of Israel do what they do. It goes all the way back to a period before the WWII. Jews slowly lost their rights as humans, living in Germany. And during the WWII, thousands were tortured and killed for no reason except for the belief they believe in (right?). It was NOT by Muslims btw, it was by the Germans, in case you're wondering... Anyway, that holocaust, that genocide, that massacre, as it is said in the article, affects the Jews greatly (of course it would). It is said that when Hamas sent rockets flying into Israel, the Jews probably feel threatened and decided to relatiate.

However, why do they want to retaliate by killing more than 700 Palestinian CIVILIANS, I have no idea. Especially since these too are the Palestinians who had to give part to their land for the Jews from German to live it. (right?) These are the Palestinians who gave them a chance to live, and here they are killing them.

Reminds me of a peribahasa, "bagai melepaskan anjing tersepit". :I

What we see today is a Jewish extremism act. My point is, just as there are Islamic extremists/militants, there are Jewish extremist/militants, Christian extremist/militants and other kinds of extremists/millitants (I'm thinking of Tamil Tigers etc). These extremists/militants most probably become extremists/militants because they themselves or their fellow 'brothers and sisters' or ancestors had had to face oppression in one way or another.

And the aftermath of this Israel attacks on Gaza, I'm afraid, may just give rise to the world seeing more Islamic extremists/militants. (there was an article in TODAY I think which mentioned this) They saw violence, all they saw was violence and they shall grow up to embrace violence as part of their lives... I'm just saying that if after this, we see more Islamic extremists/militants coming from Palestine, don't blame the Islamic teachings...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just wanna share what was shared with me... What is aqidah?

3 translations of Surah Al-Baqarah (2): 177

Yusuf Ali:
It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in God and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the God-fearing.

T.U. Hilali-M. Khan:
It is not Al-Birr (piety, righteousness, and each and every act of obedience to Allâh, etc.) that you turn your faces towards east and (or) west (in prayers); but Al-Birr is (the quality of) the one who believes in Allâh, the Last Day, the Angels, the Book, the Prophets and gives his wealth, in spite of love for it, to the kinsfolk, to the orphans, and to Al-Masâkin (the poor), and to the wayfarer, and to those who ask, and to set slaves free, performs As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât), and gives the Zakât, and who fulfill their covenant when they make it, and who are As-Sâbirin (the patient ones, etc.) in extreme poverty and ailment (disease) and at the time of fighting (during the battles). Such are the people of the truth and they are AlMuttaqûn (pious - see V.2:2).

M. Pickthall:
It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces to the East and the West; but righteous is he who believeth in Allah and the Last Day and the angels and the Scripture and the prophets; and giveth wealth, for love of Him, to kinsfolk and to orphans and the needy and the wayfarer and to those who ask, and to set slaves free; and observeth proper worship and payeth the poor-due. And those who keep their treaty when they make one, and the patient in tribulation and adversity and time of stress. Such are they who are sincere. Such are the God-fearing.

Taken from here.

As I've mentioned earlier, English (or Malay too for that matter) cannot cover the Arabic words fully. Arabic words are rich with meaning and one English translation do not truly give justice to the real meaning of alot of Qur'anic verses...

Anyway, do visit youngmuslims.ca... The online library looks interesting. And there was one book recommended to me: "To be a Muslim" by Fathi Yakkan.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Tafsir of Surat Al-Ikhlas (Chapter - 112)
Which was revealed in Makkah
The Reason for the Revelation of this Surah and its Virtues

Imam Ahmad recorded from Ubayy bin Ka`b that the idolaters said to the Prophet, "O Muhammad! Tell us the lineage of your Lord.'' So Allah revealed(Say: "He is Allah, One. Allah He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to
Him.'')

Similar was recorded by At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Jarir and they added in their narration that he said,"(As-Samad) is One Who does not give birth, nor was He born, because there is nothing that is born except that it will die, and there is nothing that dies except that it leaves behind inheritance, and indeed Allah does not die and He does not leave behind any inheritance.(And there is none comparable to Him.) This means that there is none similar to Him, none equal to Him and there is nothing at all like Him.''

Ibn Abi Hatim also recorded it and At-Tirmidhi mentioned
it as a Mursal narration. Then At-Tirmidhi said, "And this is the most correct.''

A Hadith on its Virtues

Al-Bukhari reported from `Amrah bint `Abdur-Rahman, who used to stay in the apartment of `A'ishah, the wife of the Prophet, that `A'ishah said, "The Prophet sent a man as the commander of a war expedition and he used to lead his companions in prayer with recitation (of the Qur'an). And he would complete his recitation with the recitation of `Say: He is Allah, One.' So when they returned they mentioned that to the Prophet and he said,(Ask him why does he do that.) So they asked him and he said, `Because it is the description of Ar-Rahman and I love to recite it. So the Prophet said,(Inform him that Allah the Most High loves him.)'' This is how Al-Bukhari recorded this Hadith in his Book of Tawhid. Muslim and An-Nasa'i also recorded it.

In his Book of Salah, Al-Bukhari recorded that Anas said, "A man from the Ansar used to lead the people in prayer in the Masjid of Quba'. Whenever he began a Surah in the recitation of the prayer that he was leading them, he would start by reciting `Say: He is Allah, One' until he completed the entire Surah. Then he would recite another Surah along with it (after it). And used to do this in every Rak`ah. So his companions spoke to him about this saying; `Verily, you begin the prayer with this Surah. Then you think that it is not sufficient for you unless you recite another Surah as well. So you should either recite it or leave it and recite another Surah instead.' The man replied, `I will not leave it off. If you want me to continue leading you(in prayer), I will do this; and if you all do not like it, I will leave you (i.e., I will stop leading you).' They used to consider him to be of the best of them to lead them in prayer and they did not want anyone else to lead them other than him. So, when the Prophet came they informed him of this information
and he said,(O so-and-so! What prevents you from doing what your companions are commanding you to do, and what makes you adhere to the recitation of this Surah in every Rak`ah) The man said, `Verily, I love it.' The Prophet replied,(Your love of it will cause you to enter Paradise.) This was recorded by Al-Bukhari, with a
disconnected chain, but in a manner indicating his approval.

A Hadith that mentions this Surah is equivalent to a Third of the Qur'an

Al-Bukhari recorded from Abu Sa`id that a man heard another man reciting(Say: "He is Allah, One.'') and he was repeating over and over. So when morning came, the man went
to the Prophet and mentioned that to him, and it was as though he was belittling it. The Prophet said,(By He in Whose Hand is my soul, verily it is equivalent to a third of the Qur'an.) Abu Dawud and An-Nasa'i also recorded it.

Another Hadith Al-Bukhari recorded from Abu Sa`id, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah said to his Companions,(Is one of you not able to recite a third of the Qur'an in a single night) This was something that was difficult for them and they said, "Which of us is able to do that, O Messenger of Allah'' So he replied,("Allah is the One, As-Samad'' is a third of the Qur'an.) Al-Bukhari was alone in recording this Hadith.

There's more. You can read it here.

I met...

Saturday, January 03, 2009

Many many people I was missing these few days!

Finally met up with NI/NYPMSN usrah sisters for dinner together yesterday! Kak Fiza, Kak Hawanis, Kak Mardhiah, Kak Saqinah, Kak Ruqayyah, Kak Sarah, Liyana, Nyzah and... Raihan!! Time waiting at Darul Arqam, met Kak Huda and Kak Aziah from saff too! And I'd been told insyaAllah usrah for Kak Huda's group will begin again next Friday, woo hoo~

Oh then just now during NI comm retreat, finally met Fatimah, Begum, Aisyah again!! So nice seeing y'all again tauu.. Raihan, Liyana, Kak Maryam, Kak Saqinah were there too! Brothers pon ramai dah lama tak jumpa. Gerek ah retreat...

Oh, I met around a total of 5-6 Temasekians yesterday and today, teringat zaman sec sch la gitu! Nostalgic ;) I remember those stock takings we do during holidays as comm librarians (don't look down on us ar, librarians oso have comm okeh!) and those farewells with games and bbq.. and and book club! Which didn't actually work out lol. And not forgetting ELDDS too. Orientation times... Sadako... Footsteps around the school etc. Oh at at this time of the year, it's the time of the sec 1 orientation. I remember my investiture ;) Maybe NI/Fityan should have our own investiture after our respective orientations ehk?

Had campus discussion this morning, meaning I got to meet my course mates again!!! Ad, Jamie, Chloe, Shakina, Yuva, Kayathree all luh! But never to fail to meet my 4-months fellow TLL attachments. I think Hui Yi, Aaron, JJ and I bonded really well. :)

After campus discussion, I had the opportunity to meet Titisan for a short wee while too! Aww, miss you darlings!! But when Fifi reminded the juniors, "Know who's this or not? she was my ASGH last batch!", I can't help remembering how little I contributed to my batch's development. Then, I was neither good in drama skills nor organisational skills, opps~

And tmr I shall be meeting Raudah and Liyana for breakfast, whee~

I'm really looking forward to 2009. It's like so indefinite right now, like a sense of mystery like that ah hehe. I don't have to look so far, in just 6-7months, I wonder where would I be...

Sajak - Guru Oh Guru

BERBURU ke padang datar
Dapat rusa belang kaki
Berguru kepala ajar
Ibarat bunga kembang tak jadi

Dialah pemberi paling setia
Tiap akar ilmu miliknya
Pelita dan lampu segala
Untuk manusia sebelum jadi dewasa.

Dialah ibu dialah bapa juga sahabat
Alur kesetiaan mengalirkan nasihat
Pemimpin yang ditauliahkan segala umat
Seribu tahun katanya menjadi hikmat.

Jika hari ini seorang Perdana Menteri berkuasa
Jika hari ini seorang Raja menaiki takhta
Jika hari ini seorang Presiden sebuah negara
Jika hari ini seorang ulama yang mulia
Jika hari ini seorang peguam menang bicara
Jika hari ini seorang penulis terkemuka
Jika hari ini siapa sahaja menjadi dewasa;
Sejarahnya dimulakan oleh seorang guru biasa
Dengan lembut sabarnya mengajar tulis-baca.

Di mana-mana dia berdiri di muka muridnya
Di sebuah sekolah mewah di Ibu Kota
Di bangunan tua sekolah Hulu Terengganu
Dia adalah guru mewakili seribu buku;

Semakin terpencil duduknya di ceruk desa
Semakin bererti tugasnya kepada negara.
Jadilah apa pun pada akhir kehidupanmu, guruku
Budi yang diapungkan di dulangi ilmu
Panggilan keramat "cikgu" kekal terpahat
Menjadi kenangan ke akhir hayat.

Lilin Seorang Guru - In-Team

Lilin Seorang Guru
Album : Impian Kasih
Munsyid : In-Team
http://liriknasyid.com

Pernah langkah ku payah
Menuju ke destinasi
Kerana malam gelap
Dan bintang hilang kerdipnya
Menjadikan arah ku keliru
Ke timur atau ke barat

Bagai lilin membakar diri
Menerangi kegelapan hati
Kau curahkan bakti dan budi
Jasamu tiada berganti

Namun tanpa rasa payah
Dia memimpin tanganku
Melangkah satu persatu
Dan mencipta jejak impian
Menjadikan arahku jelas
Aku harus ke hadapan

Ohoo… aku kini rindu
Pada satu nama yang berjasa
Tuhan, beri kekuatan
Untuk mendidikku selamanya
Ku pohon restu kasih-Mu
Ampunkanlah guru-guruku

Semalam ku lihat dia
Di bibirnya ada kalimah
Yang bergetar saban waktu
Sambil tangan menggenggam lilin
Lilin yang tiada terpadam
Menerangi hidupku kini

Kecantikan Wanita

KECANTIKAN WANITA

Manusia, jauh melebihi segala ciptaan lain.

http://www.van.9f.com/kecantikan_wanita.htm

Wanita solehah itu aurat dijaga,
Pergaulan dipagari,
Sifat malu pengikat diri,

Wahai wanita jangan pula berdukacita atas kekurangan dirimu,

It hasn't rained for 2 days. Good good. Rain these days just makes me wanna snuggle up under my comforter and go to sleep whole day long. Besides it is so troublesome to bring my umbrella around. And that umbrella is.... nevermind. I need to get myself a bigger bag and an umbrella. Soon.

Just as the sun has been shining through, my smile has been slowly shining through as well. Of course the dark clouds still hang around and cover that smile on and off.

Know why my smile is slowly shining through? Cos firstly I'm all prepared for tomorrow morning and now that Shara and Shaza have kindly accepted to help me present the Tafsir presentation and Audi too has decided to run away from his camp for awhile and help Arif present the Bunayya presentation, I can concentrate solely on my speech. And I've managed to cut it shorter so I'll only be up there on the stage (I hope not to embarrass myself) for 5 mins.

However I've yet to finish my Musthalah Hadith revision. I still have that 5 chapters I was talking about earlier. I'll chiong it out tonight, insyaAllah.

Oh btw, my dad's not staying to watch me give my speech. Don't ask.

Oh ya, another reason why I'd been smiling is cos I'd been meeting new people. Like last Thursday, I shared a of Nasi lemak with this nenek and this one Chinese-looking lady whom I normally see at Ghufran but never chatted with before. I still don't fancy chatting with the nenek long long cos I find the way she talks very 'manja'. And in my dictionary, manja doesn't exist unless it applies to ME. Hehe. But I'm not that manja larh. I find it that manjaness can be very irritating and no, I don't wish to irritate people. Though, I do feel that my voice gets a bit whiny sometimes. Tak tau camne nak tukar ar.

The chinese-looking lady, I found out is actually of mixed blood and she's actually a teacher at East View Sec teaching Bio and Chem. Haha, it was nice chatting to her. Oh and she's from TP! She took engineering but turns out to be a science teacher haha. And she told me that she only comes on Wednesdays and Thursday for the syarahan, but only after she finish marking. I think I drop by masjid on Thursdays more than on any other days (cept Tues and Sat when I have meeting and class) haha, cos really I do remember seeing her quite a lot of times before.

Anyway, yesterday I went to Perdaus Bedok to meet Ustazah Farhana and I was late, so I took a taxi (lama benar aku tak naik taxi. Mahal seh! $5.60 aku kena!! Boleh beli Mac EVM seh) and the uncle in the taxi was like, I dunno ar what he was like! But he talked as if I'm such a failure like that. Eh hello uncle, you if so smart, why drive taxi?? He was like asking me how's my studies, can go uni not, I top 5 people during O level not, I got cholarship not. Wei! Dah lah pekak, aku bebual pon "Hah? Hah? Hah?", nak banyak colok pulak. Then I saw I wanna be researcher, he ask why don't want become doctor lah ape lah. Oi, suker aku ar! Irritated seh ngan uncle tu. Macam aku anak dia pulak. Serious, cara dia cakap not as a concerned taxi driver showing his concern for and give advice to and motivate a young Singaporean student to achieve greater heights in life, but cara dia macam sindir gitu. Uncle, please eh, I know very well how competitive it is in Singapore and how good I must be in order just to survive, you don't have to membebel about it in front of me. Ikut hati nak aje aku turn the tables around. But I didn't want to prolong the conversation. Then dia continue lagi! Tanya tak panas ke pakai tutup2. Abistu dia sendiri cakap, nowadays, young people don't wear like you. Abe now that I'm wearing decently like this, you're like discouraging me. Betul ar, I think he'd had such a boring day such that he wanna add some spice into everything that comes out of his mouth. Haha, Fatin would say, "Maplek betol!"

Kat dalam office Perdaus lagi satu hal. It was a weird experience haha. Cos there were two friendly asatizahs in the office and asked for my name, and when I told them my name, they're like, "Ohhhhh! Awak lah ni Marliyana!" and "Marliyana? Marliyana Mohd. Noor??". Aik? Sejak bila namaku tersebar luas nih?? Tak pernah-pernah aku bebual ngan asatizah2 nih! Cos I pay my fees using GIRO so I don't enter the office often. Only at most once a year since Sec 1 to Sec 4agaknya. Even Ustazah Farhana and Arif don't know who I am when they heard my name over the phone. Entah la eh.

Oh, then Ustazah Norliza (I think that's her name) sent me to Tampines (best best, though the aircon was blowing full blast in my face that I felt as if I've got a frozen nose when I alighted her car) and I got to know her better as well, how she ended up working at Perdaus Bedok and all. Now, she's someone who's really trying to motivate people to do better. So in a way, my ride to Perdaus is somewhat opposite of the ride back home eventhough we were on a pretty much similar topic.

Then last night had usrah at Kak Maryam's house on the topic of hijab/tudung. From all that we discussed about, I learnt two main things:

1. I was really jahil last time even though I attend madrasah and such and I am not a good person now either (though better in many ways), I haven't reached the best a Muslimah youth can be, and my iman is relly not kuat. Well, I am trying to improve. It takes time, slowly slowly start jinak-jinak, then betol2 perbetolkan diri. It's an ongoing process. Gakkan nak mendadak, my parents pon terkejot berok agaknya. And no, my family is not as religious as you may think. Neither am I dear friends. There are people out there so much better than me, and some of them are my very own sisters i've crossed paths with and I'm very glad and grateful that our path had crossed. Eh panjang pulak ceritanya.

2. There is really so much hikmah behind me not being able to enter JC cos my grades weren't good enough. I'm very glad and grateful. I really think that 2006 was a turning point in my life. Even when I read my entries from 2006, it was... dunno what to say lah, other than alhamdulillah, segala puji bagi Allah. The fasting month in 2006 especially. Truly, I'm grateful. indeed Allah knows best what's good for you and what's not.

opps, I took up too much time. Gotta go. Thanks for reading!

Wanita Shalihah by The Fikr

Perhiasan yang paling indah
bagi seorang abdi Allah
Itulah ia wanita sholehah
Ia menghiasi dunia

Perhiasan yang paling indah
bagi seorang abdi Allah
Itulah ia wanita sholehah
Ia menghiasi dunia
Itulah ia wanita sholehah
Ia menghiasi dunia

Aurat ditutup demi kehormatan
Kitab Al Qur'an didaulahkan
Suami mereka ditaatinya
Walau berjualan di rumah saja

Karena iman dan juga Islam
Telah menjadi keyakinan
Jiwa raga mampu di korbankan
Harta kemewahan dileburkan

Di dalam kehidupan ini
dia menampakkan kemuliaan
Bagai sekutum mawar yang tegar
Ditengah gelombang kehidupan

Aurat ditutup demi kehormatan
Kitab al Qur'an didaulahkan
Suami mereka ditaatinya
Akhlak mulia yang ia hadirkan

Karena iman dan juga Islam
Telah menjadi keyakinan
Jiwa raga mampu di korbankan
Harta kemewahan dileburkan

Di dalam kehidupan ini
dia menampakkan kemuliaan
Bagai sekutum mawar yang tegar
Ditengah gelombang kehidupan
