Because of you

A true friend knows your weaknesses but shows you your strengths; feels your fears but fortifies your faith; sees your anxieties but frees your spirit; recognizes your disabilities but emphasizes your possibilities.- William Arthur Ward

Partly because I have friends who're more of brothers and sisters to me that are like this, that I now stand as who I am today...

More reminders :)

-Kak Maryam, 23 Feb 2010, 2326hrs

Rasulullah (pbuh) once said, "The greatest reward comes with the greatest trial. When Allah s.w.t. loves a people He tests them. Whoever accepts that win His pleasure but whoever is discontent with that earns His wrath." (Tirmidzi) InsyaALlah if we believe and trust in Allah, we can go through it all with ease. "If Allah wants to do good to somebody, He afflicts him with trials" (Sahih Bukhari)

-Huda, NI daily reminder, 29 Jan 2010, 0823hrs

The words, "Praise be to Allah" or "Alhamdulillah", are the easiest to recite yet heaviest in balance & dearest to the Merciful. - the Prophet pbuh as rereported by Abu Hurairah, We should always be grateful & syukur to Allah with what we have. InsyaAllah our life will be blessed by always thanking Allah everyday.

- At-Tirmidzi, Ibn Hibban & Al-Baihaqi. Senyum adalah ibadah yang senang dilaksanakan. Oleh itu, senyum-senyum selalu! "A warm smile is a universal language of kindness" - William Arthur Ward. When someone smile at you, it's polite to return it. And most of the time, smile is the first act to a new friendship.

-Azimah, NI daily reminder, 27 Jan 2010, 0641hrs

Rasulullah s.a.w. said "A man might speak a word without thinking about its implications, but because of it, he will plunge into the hellfire further than the distance between east and west." (narrated by Bukhari & MUslim) True enough my beloved brothers and sisters, we sometimes on't think before we say something. And we keep doing it over and over again, ignorant to the fact of how grave the consequences may be. Our tongue should never react quicker than our brain. For what we say and the manner in which we speak, portrays us as a muslim. So let us make a point to always be in clear conscious control of whatever we say. Cause we don't atually realise how our tongue can lead us to grave consequences when not in control. Start today, give it a try. InsyaAllah, Allah s.w.t. will make it all easier for all of us.

-Harith, NI daily reminder, 26 Jan 2010, 0742hrs

Never regard study as a duty but as an enviable opportunity to learn to know the liberating influence of beauty in the realm of the spirit for your own joy (as we able to please Him) and to the profit of the community to which your later works belong.

-Ishak, 25 Jan 2010, 1229hrs

"I like living ,I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing." (quote from a book) So bottomline is to be thankful of what you have.

-Diyana, NI daily reminder, 25 Jan 2010, 0800hrs

"...and be patient and persevering: for Allah is those who patiently persever" (Al-Anfal 8:46) Abu Ali ad-Daqqaq said: "People who have patience are the true winners in this world and the next, because they have the companionship of Allah." Patience is the way to earn the companionship of Allah.

-Zariq, NI daily reminder, 24 Jan 2010, 0728hrs

A few impactful reminders for the rest of our lives. 1) When we remember Allah the Almighty & we are aware of the reality of death, we pay more attention to worship and to our actions; we show more sensitivity and try to avoid hurting the feelings of others. 2) If you survive till the evening, do not expect to be alive in the morning, and if you survive till the morning, do not expect to be alive in the evening, & take from your sickness, and from your life for your death. (Bukhari) 3) The objective of human beings in this world is to attain happiness in the hereafter.

-Faatimah, NI daily reminder, 23 Jan 2010, 0712hrs

Hati itu umpama kaca, jangan biar ia retak. Akal & iman itu umpama air, jangan biar ia kering. Persahabatan itu umpama tali, jangan biar ia putus. Persahabatan is a gift that you don't have to pay to get one...

-Zuib, NI daily reminder, 22 Jan 2010, 0801hrs

Jom kita pakai formula DUIT. "D.U.I.T., D: Doa, U: Usaha, I: Ikhtiar, T: Tawakkal"

-Syabrina, NI daily reminder, 21 Jan 2010, 0845hrs

Beribadahlah seakan kamu akan mati besok. Bekerjalah ibarat kamu hidup seribu tahun. Seize every opportunity that comes your way. InsyaAllah, your life wil; change for the better

-Wawan, NI daily reminder, 20 Jan 2010, 0737hrs

"On no soul does Allah place a burden greater than it can bear. It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns..." Surah Al-Baqarah verse 286. So when we are experiencing a great challenge or having a great responsibility on our shoulder, Allah s.w.t. knows that you can handle it. So let's brace ourselves to face the world.

"Jazakallahu khair"

Friday, July 24, 2009

Penulisan Lafazh "JazakAllah Khairan"

Semoga bermanfaat…

2 people doa that for me today, that's why I posted this up.

I love Arabic :))) Came across a forum where Malays were practicising basic Arabic conversation, interesting. I like to know I could understand half of what they were saying! And the video Raudah shared just now too!

Anyway, I feel very happy today! I love the feeling of spreading joy, happiness and laughter very much :D And had great laughs with Ad in the afternoon and great laughs with some of the fatayaats just now. So happy! Feels like a long time since I laughed this much gitu. Love you guys loads... awww...

K very sleepy already. Maybe going to support Fityan tmr. 7.15am at Ghufran?!?! ZzZzZz...

But alot going through my mind. Plans. Questions. Things to do!

Anyway, before I go off, asking for your kindness to pray for Jun and Azz who haven't been feeling well lately and still 'recuperating' at home to get well soon... It doesn't feel good to feel sick, so you don't want to feel sick right? And isn't it aid that your iman is not complete if you do not wish for your brother what you wish for yourself... so don't you wish that your brother too don't have to feel sick? :) Thank you..

Oh, one last note... I started this day with "Life is a university for us. Let's strive for all-round success. Hidup ini tarbiyah untuk kita. Ayuh usaha untuk kejayaan dunia dan akhirat. Even as you cry, make another person smile or even laugh. Walaupun hati hiba dan mengalir airmata, buatlah orang lain tersenyum, malah tertawa..." and I am happy to say I have made at least one person smile and one person laugh today... And thank you others who made me smile and laugh as well.

Harry Potter tomorrow!!! Shut up spoilers!!

Your path and my path, how it crossed and how it'll part

Monday, May 04, 2009

Crystallize your goals. Make a plan for achieving them and set yourself a deadline. Then, with supreme confidence, determination and disregard for obstacles and other people's criticisms, carry out your plan. -Paul Meyer

Next step, now that I have my Vision Board, it's time to chart my path towards it :D

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I must be crazy, I took up important roles in 3 camps (ok, really important roles for 2 of them of which both are happening within one week difference!)... To add to that, I think my fellow programmer is just as crazy, she too is currently handling 3 events, not to mention school, tuitions and madrasah. At least I only have madrasah left now hehe.

Crazy as it it, I like it (most of the time) as I see the meaning behind it (mostly, kadang tu terlupa jugak niat, biasalah manusia... tu sebab selalu perlukan tazkirah)...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Celebrated 3 brothers' 24th birthday last night. There were a total of 18 of us. 9 sisters. 9 brothers. It was a happy night, and certainly the warmth of the friendship seemed to radiate everywhere. Especially since most of them were actually from the same NI exco batch 3-4 years ago. It was so nice to see the ukhuwwah going strong even through the years.

And it made me wonder... How would my batch be like 3-4 years down the road.. Would we still contribute to NI, as the current alumNI are more than willing to do to our batch? Would we even still be together?

And where would we be? What would we be doing? As I hear most of the brothers and sisters sharing how they're pursuing their studies (even overseas), I wonder if my path would be similar: to work first, earn $$$ and then go back to school to pursue my own set of dreams.

I shall tawakkal to Allah... Plus doa. I've accomplished the Usaha and Ikhtiar part and there's not much more I can do but wait, and wait, and wait somemore...

Where will I be, what would I be doing 3 months from now, a year from now, 3 years from now, 5 years from now, 10 years from now, 30 years from now and so on! That is, if I live long enough to see the sun these years from noe...

Recently I was reminded of the car accident I got into last November. Many things could have happened then. and no doubt, many things can happen anytime.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Happy belated/advanced 24th birthday Brothers Imran, Mohksin and Asrul! May Allah bless you with meaningful lives and to all of you, may you find what each of you are seeking for soon. Wherever you will be, whatever you'll be doing in the times to come, remember us and the ukhuwwah that binds us together.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am very grateful to Allah for what He has put me through and for where He has placed me now. I certainly feel blessed with the life I'm leading and with the friendships and all other blessings I'm showered with.

I love you oh Allah.

COMPLETED COURSE OF STUDY FOR THE DIPLOMA IN BIOTECHNOLOGY

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

ALHAMDULILLAH...

Finally I see that on my 'transcript'. Alhamdulillah...

Here ends my journey as a TP student....

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway I accidentally came across my previous posts tagged with 'motivation' and some excerpts really caught my attention :)

1) I still want to write that book I was talking about. And yea I'd started, but stopped after a few pages opps~
"The book can be a gift to someone special passed on to generations of special people, in my hope to leave a tiny legacy, an ilmu that can be a benefit to others even till long after my death. Yes I will die one day. Everyone does. But not everyone leaves a legacy. Some leaves a name, but what point is it to leave behind your name. Leaving a legacy would benefit both the writer and the reader, insyaAllah."

2) I still wanna do well and I hope to be a good role model to others.
"But just one thing, after the session kan, cam rasa motivated nak belajar and do well in school. Padahal the session nak katakan takde kena mengena with motivating us who attended to strive harder in our studies pon. Just that.. entah. Cam I just feel that by doing well in my studies, I will be contributing to the Malay community lar. Small as it is, cam rasa ada jugak contribute. Change the view of others that all Malays are lazy and will not do well in school. Prove them wrong! Another angle to look at it is that by doing well in my studies, I can be a good role model to the younger ones to tell them that it's possible to do well in studies! And indirectly, I'm saying it's perfectly alright to dream big. Asalkan tak jadi mat jenin eh. Dream big and work towards it, insyaAllah boleh. Think positive people!"

3) InsyaAllah I will stay in and contribute to the Science field.
"We Muslims wouldn't want to be at a disadvantage because we refuse to learn secular studies. We need Muslims in every other stream, the Science stream, the Arts stream, the Business stream etc to show that Muslims are not one dimensional. Islam afterall is not just a religion of worship, but it's actually a WAY OF LIFE... MY way of life. Taking the secular stream doesn't mean we can't practice Islam or that we are not practicing Islam."

4) I CAN make a difference!
"There is something very special in each and every one of us. We have all been gifted with the ability to make a difference. And if we can become aware of that gift, we gain through the strength of our visions the power to shape the future. We must each find our starfish. And if we throw our stars wisely and well, the world will be blessed."

5) I CAN have time.
“Pay attention to the thing things that are critical to your happiness. Lead a life as a obedient creature of your Creator. Play with your children. Take time to get the medical check-ups. Take your spouse out. Play another game 18 hole at the golf course. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first-the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand”

6) I'm a Muslim youth.
"In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
We bear witness that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His Messenger.
We acknowledge that the purpose of our lives is none but to worship Allah
And our intended role on this earth is as His Khalifah.
Thus, we, the Muslim Youth of Today,
Do hereby pledge that we will strive to do all we can to uphold this responsibility
And make this world a better place for all creations.
We believe there is hope for the future
And we seek Allah’s guidance in realising that hope!"

Dan janganlah kamu berasa lemah, dan jangan pula kamu bersedih hati, kerana kamu paling tinggi darjatnya, jika kami orang beriman. (Ali-Imran 3: 139)

He has laid on you no hardships in the observance of your religion. (Al-Qur'an 22:78)

Allah does not wish to burden you, He seeks only to purify you. (Al-Qur'an 5:6)

Allah does not charge a soul with more than its capacity. (Al-Qur'an 2:286)

“And it may be that you dislike a thing that is good for you…” (Qur’an 2: 216)

We shall test your faith by means of fear and hunger and loss of wealth and lives and crops, but give good tidings to those who endured with courage, who in hardship say, "To Allah we belong and to Him shall we return." - Qur'an, Al Baqara, Surah 2:155-56

O you who believe! Strengthen yourselves with resolution and prayer. Indeed Allah is with those who persevere in adversity. - Qur'an, Al-Baqara, Surah 2:153

No disaster, unless it has been preordained and recorded in the book of records, can ever befall the earth nor your own selves. Behold, all this is easy enough for Allah. Know this so that you may not despair for the good fortune you lost, nor exult unduly because of the blessings bestowed upon you. Allah does not love the arrogant and the boastful. - Qur'an, Al-Hadid, 57:22-23

I dream

Wednesday, January 28, 2009

In my mind
I can climb
All the mountains that surround me
My spirit's there, where eagles dare to fly

In my heart
There's a spark
That can light the world around me
An open door, where I am sure dreams are

Doesn't matter if I win
Or the colour of my skin
Cause this race is all about
Believing in yourself

And I dream
I can run
Like the wind
And be strong
When my heart just wants to give in
I dream, I can be
The hero that's in me
When I dream, I dream

There's a time, In your life
When the odds are so against you
There's no defeat if all you keep is pride
First or last, Slow or fast
There's a dignity that makes you
Keep driving on, when world's have come apart

Doesn't matter rich or poor
Or the things you've done before
Cause the race is all about
Believing in yourself

And I dream
I can run
Like the wind
And be strong
When my heart just wants to give in
I dream, I can be
The hero that's in me
I dream

I dream!
Of the moment
That forever will be golden
When the torch is passed
Only dreams will last
That are shared by everyone

I dream
I can run
Like the wind
And be strong
When my heart just wants to give in
I dream, I can be
The hero that's in me
When I dream, I dream

And then I wake up and hafta face my MP report. "Oh so that was just a dream..."

The quote at TLL...

All men dream, but unequally. Those that dream at night in the dusty recesses of their minds awake the next day to find that their dreams were just vanity. But those who dream during the day with their eyes wide open are dangerous men; they act out their dreams to make them reality. by Thomas Edward Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia

Ya Qalbi

Friday, August 15, 2008

There's alot I need to reflect on, and maner lagi nak turn to bila time nak reflect reflect ni kalau bukan kat blog kita.

Been sighing more than normal this week. Actually takde banyak benda sangat la this week, but entah. I guess I'm going through a personal rough patch internally.

[Bukhari no. 6018, Muslim no. 47]

Actually, I feel that I'm quieter this week. Macam... more reserved, or... entahlah, I can't really put it into words gitu...

"Apakah manusia itu mengira bahawa mereka dibiarkan saja mengatakan;
"Kami telah beriman," sedangkan mereka tidak diuji? Dan sesungguhnya
kami telah menguji org2 yg sebelum mereka, maka sesungguhnya Allah
mengetahui org2 yg benar dan sesungguhnya Dia mengetahui org2 yg dusta."
-Surah Al-Ankabut ayat 2-3

Sebenarnya aku terasa amat letih sekali.

Apapun, aku terpaksa menghadapi kenyataan.

Entahlah.

"Janganlah kamu bersikap lemah, dan janganlah pula kamu bersedih hati, padahal kamulah orang-orang yang paling tinggi darjatnya, jika kamu orang-orang yg beriman." - Surah Al-Imran ayat 139

I think I'm not a people person lah. Lebih suka bersendirian. Lebih suka melayan perasaan. Hai... No wonder I'm more attracted to research work. Duduk sorang-sorang pikir, berbual sendiri semua. Bila tangan bergerak melakukan tugas, mulut bergerak menghibur diri kemudian fikiran melayang memasuki lain dimensi -

Dimensiku...
Di mana tiada orang lain di situ
selain diriku.
Jikalau dibanyanginya sekarang, tempatnya indah.
Terdapat banyak pepohon,
baik yang rendah mahupun yang tinggi.
Terdapat juga kupu-kupu yang mewarnai kehijauan sekeliling
dengan warna-warninya sayap mereka.
Menembusi dedaun hijau pohon-pohon yang tinggi
adalah pancaran matahari yang menerangi kawasan.
Dan kedengaran merdunya suara burung-burung
yang berkomunikasi antara satu sama lain
yang bahasanya tak mungkin aku fahami
namun menjadi lagu buat diriku.
berbaju kuning terang
menunggu saat malam mendatang.

I miss roleplaying. I miss reading fantasy stories. Where the impossible is possible. And things come alive.

Last lap. TE term test on Tues. LAST term test and prac written test on Wed. RTechB sem exam on Fri. BPT sem exam on next next Wed. Then one week break which will be capped off with RYCamp. Followed by SIP the following Mon. Do pray for me...

I need that energy bounce back. I'd been releasing my energy to others, but it seems that the energy just dissipates before reaching others or gets absorbed by them instead of getting bounced back to me for me to bounce it back to them back or to other people. I'm left energy-less. And with what little energy I have left, I don't know if I wanna risk releasing any of it to the people around me again. What if it doesn't get bounced back to me again? What will I be left with? What will I be without energy? Speechless? Motionless?

Titisan people would understand the analogy above. I have no idea how else to explain this. It's not about giving and taking tau. It's about erm.. what eh? Response? Erm, not sure if that it right.

Actually initially this entry is supposed to be about how dreadful LAST prac was and also how interesting the dinner with Kak Maryam and Liyana was. But I guess that's for me to keep for now. I had to let out the above first. Hoping to feel better. I dunno. Still feels empty. At least the tears have stopped.

Anyway, two of my sisters aren't feeling well. Do make du'as for them may they get well soon.

Before I end, a comfort and reminder to myself: "ya qalbi, la tahzan ya qalb" (O heart, don't be sad o heart.) HAVE FAITH. Allah is sufficient for me .There is no God but He. I have placed my trust in Him, He is Lord of the Majestic Throne. - wish to live by this, but hadn't been successful. But it does bring some comfort sometimes.

Who you see may just be who I want you to see me as. At the same time, it may just be you who misjudge me. Perhaps, because you don't know me. The fault lies with both parties - you and me.

Just an Update

I.am.feeling.... worried over something. I have a notion worried over what, but I can't be sure. Had this feeling since last night. Resah, gelisah... Tak tenteram. Macam ada yang sungguh tak kena gitu...

I hope it has nothing related to this hadith:

Al-Nawwas bin Sam'an, radiyallahu 'anhu, reported that the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said:

"Righteousness is good character, and sin is that which wavers in your heart and which you do not want people to know about."
[Muslim]

According to Wabisah bin Ma'bad, radiyallahu 'anhu, who said:

I came to the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, and he said: "You have come to ask about righteousness ?" " Yes," I answered. He said: "Consult your heart. Righteousness is that about which the soul feels tranquil and the heart feels tranquil, and sin is what creates restlessness in the soul and moves to and fro in the breast, even though people give you their opinion (in your favour) and continue to do so."
[A good hadith transmitted from the Musnads of the two Imams, Ahmad bin Hanbal and Al-Darimi]

from http://fortyhadith.iiu.edu.my/hadith27.htm

LAST was horrible yesterday... Goodbye rat...

Anyway, took my NAPFA this morning. What the toot... Failed my standing broad jump and 2.4km run quite badly... Oh wells... Expected actually. Always didn't do well in these in Sec school either. Passed just because My Ng and the other PE teachers seriously push us till we pass. No wonder Temasek won the fitness award for lik how many consecutive years sehh..

So unfit... So sad... No wonder I always lazy to do things. Korang let's play netball and badminton yok! And who wanna go rockclimbing? NI-ans *ahem*!! Hehe. Fityan too ;)

I feel creative juices welling up in my brain but I can't put aside time to pour them on paper! Wish to open Secret Gate again!!! Missing my bcreative side. Missing Sylvia badly too!

And Siti... She asked me out today and I'd wanted to go, but I was super tired after NAPFA that I just went flat.

I'd been eating ALOT despite the ulcer in my mouth. Opps~ Cotrol!!!

Oh oh, the ulcer has more or less healed already whee~!

Watched Spiderman3 for awhile just now on HBO. "whatever comes our way, whatever battle we have raging inside us, we always have a choice. my friend harry taught me that. he chose to be the best of himself. its the choices that make us who we are, and we can choose to do whats right." :)

Just wanna share another hadith:

Abu al-‘Abbas ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbas, radiyallahu anhuma, reported: One day I was behind the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, and he said to me:

"O young man, I shall teach you some words [of advice] : Be mindful of Allah, and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him in front of you. If you (have need to) ask, ask of Allah; and if you seek help, seek help from Allah. Know that even if the Nation (or the whole community) were to gather together to benefit you with something, they would not benefit you with anything except that which Allah has already recorded for you, and that if they gather together to harm you with something, they would not be able to harm you with anything except that which Allah has already recorded against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried."

A year has passed...

At that time, these people were near strangers to me.

Now, they're my brothers and sisters who share a common goal as I do. Well, most of them larh...

That was my beginning.
Henry Ford says: Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success...
