Twilight Saga

Monday, November 30, 2009

Just for the record... I started reading Twilight Saga on Wednesday night around 9 or 10pm after my last paper and woo hoo I've just finished all 4 books! :D Missing alot of sleep in between of course, but it's worth it. I was just not able to sleep! Page-turning....

Yet, I cheated hehe. On Sunday night I started reading the draft of Midnight Sun on the official Stephenie Meyer's site (yet managing to finish my revision for General Chem paper!) till wherever it stopped, after catching the movie played on Star Movies. I was hoooooooked! So after getting the books on Wednesday, I started halfway in Twilight where the story stops in Midnight Sun. Of course I found Bella's thoughts boring after that haha but still, the plot for Twilight was interesting, so was it throughout the books.

Then, for New Moon, I read a few chapters after finishing Twilight on Thursday morning and went to catch the movie with my brother. So apparently, when I returned to the book, I skipped abit and started reading back from when Bella jumped off the cliff, the starting of the climax.

Eclipse... I wennt through it all and I loved it best I think :D

As for Breaking Dawn, I skipped majority of Jacob's part, just reading here and there where there's conversation to understand roughly what is going on. The book was so thick, and I was eager to reach the end haha!

Can't wait to catch New Moon again at the movies again, eventhough I kind of do not agree with Kirsten being Bella (and neither am I comfortable with the too-many-kissing-scenes). She seems out of character uhh... I think Alice fits the best followed by Charlie and then Jacob haha. The rest were ok...

Speaking of movies, I wonder how the director is going to take up the challenge of shooting Breaking Dawn. Seriously!

I looooooooove fantasy books ;) Charmed, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Tamora Pierce's books, Juliet Marillier's books and Twilight are the main ones. Of course I've come across some other indovisual books, not in series form, that are from the fantasy genre which I enjoy just as much.

I'm going on to read some real life stories, but I'm sure I'd be back to fantasy soon enough! I need to get away from the realities of life. Though I think Twilight took me away too much. I was too engrossed in it seh! Losing sleep like that and all. The lack of sleep made me zombie-like. There's nothing I seem able to think of other than Twilight 24/7. And you can see how blood-drained my arms, face and lips (and I'm sure the rest of the body as well for that matter!) whenever I wake up from short bouts of sleep I managed to take hehe.

Gotta get back to real life for awhile before filling in the gaps I cheated on!! GESL... science Centre... Camps...

WAS happy

Wednesday, November 25, 2009

How do you feel when exams are over, your clothes are dried and neatly folded and your room is neat and tidy again? Relieved? Excited to start enjoying? You suddenly seem to be in a super duper good mood and can't help smiling right? Regardless of a stomach cramp and a headache threatening to control your life...

And off you go to the nearest shopping centre to reward your hardwork with something material, something that you have been wanting but waited patiently for it till your exams are out of the way...

Before you know it, your hands are laden with several books that you can't wait to hide your head in for the next couple of days each second you have nothing else more urgent to keep you occupied.

How then would you feel when you reach home and someone asked you, "Can't you wait to go shopping tomorrow or something?" just because you were late in bringing back the newspaper that was asked? Or how about, "You went to buy books at Popular? Didn't you just said you had no money?" just because there were several things you asked to be bought without giving the money? In fact, you had every intention of paying back the amount.... How then would you feel when on top of all that, a remark given, "When you get your bonus, I expect double."

Crushed? Unhappy? No more mood?

Plus plus plus, your promise to upload some pictures onto the net after your exams is demanded, before you get to even enjoy the first line of your newly bought books....

To top it all off, you can't say anything about it. What then would you do?

Rant it out on your blog, which you are super glad no one reads anymore, and try your best to hold the tears in your eyes, as a symbol of the tantrum you can't have. You are afterall 20 years old....

Don't you just wish you'd said you'd wanna spend the night at your hostel? Your escapade, it seems...

Twilight

Monday, November 23, 2009

I am suddenly in love with Twilight :)

Oh, I feel that Bella looks abit like Hermione...

Anyway, I'm so getting the book, and if I can, I'd wanna catch New Moon in the movies.

Oh, I got this from wikipedia, and I guess this particular theme is what I enjoyed most from Twilight:
Other major themes of the series include choice and free will.[11][18] Meyer says that the books are centered around Bella's choice to choose her life on her own, and the Cullens' choices to abstain from killing rather than follow their temptations: "I really think that's the underlying metaphor of my vampires. It doesn't matter where you're stuck in life or what you think you have to do; you can always choose something else. There's always a different path."[18]
