CPF

Thursday, January 08, 2009

No I'm not referring to the thingy you 'put' some money in every month, if you work certain kinds of jobs, and when you are old, you get it back...

I'm referring to a speech I heard 3-4 years ago at TMS (Temasek Sec larh). It was a valedictorian speech if I'm not mistaken. Lemme try find an excerpt of it from my old blog...

Found it. It's the 2nd last post in my old blog dated somewhere in July 2005. But I didn't write much about it.

It was an advice by Wilson, one of those smart seniors uh... He mentioned about CPF.
C-Consistence
P-Perseverance
F-Focus
CPF to do well in school and in life. An advice I'd been holding to for a very long time... It is a formula to success, no matter what izzit you wanna succeed in.

Right this minute though, I shall change it abit hehe. I'm doing CPF now.
C-Coping
P-Persevering
F-Focusing
Ok, not much of focusing here eh, since I'm blogging instead of doing work opps~

Hadn't been having my usual appetite these 2 days. Very very worried about my report. I think of it while doing everything - while eating, while drinking, while sleeping, while working, while travelling etc etc. My mentor sat down with me this afternoon to talk to me about the meagre draft I sent her. Somehow her guidance helpes ease abit of the tightness in my stomach since I read her e-mail reply. I'm eating better too, yet not well enough still. I won't have any peace till this ordeal is finally over. My mentor said that I'd have to work on the report EVERYDAY, and I've yet to do anything today... :( If she knows about my progress (or rather my non-progression) in SIP report, MP workbook and poster, she'll be even more disappointed in me, which makes me more disappointed in myself...

My family's not feeling well. Dad coughing probably cos of smoking, "hah tu lah degil kan. kan sekarang sape susah??". Brother's voice like rocker probably cos of smoke too and not sleeping at night playing online game gaia. Eldest bro, cough too plus wounds on his leg, looks like he got eaten by rats, no kidding, eww~ Mother coughing too either from the smoke from the men in the family, or from 'eating' ice-milo hmph haha. Me alhamdulillah okok. The wounds from TWO accidents at NUS are ok, sting abit if I press too hard probably. Rather stressed, which contributes to headaches and constipation etc geez...

Anyway, something to share! Sorry it's in Malay...
"Perangilah orang-orang musyrik dengan harta, diri, dan lidah kalian." (riwayat Ahmad, Abu Daud dan Nasa'i, sanad sahih) Lidah... Hmm, you thinking what I'm thinking? ;)

Ok that's all for today... Been listening to the complete qur'an recitation by shaikh mishary rashid on imeem. How I wish I understand the beautiful language of His words...

Victory for Palestine, insyaAllah

Wednesday, January 07, 2009

Surah al-Fath. Al-Fath meaning 'the victory'. May the ultimate victory goes to the Palestinians. The victorious are afterall not those who are 'successful' on this temporary earth, instead the victorious are those who earn His pleasure through this life for the wonderful rewards He offers in the hereafter, right? Pray may the Palestinians be given strength to hold strongly to their faith...

You can hear the whole Surah by Mishary here.

Btw kan, I know imeem ade playlist uh but ni baru makcik tau kat youtube ade 'playlist' :).

Worried

I'm really worried about my MP report and SIP report and MP poster and MP workbook! All due BEFORE 10th Feb. Really very worried. Two weeks left :S

The current situation in Gaza is even more worrying actually. Defensive act you say? I only hear 'offensive'...

Israel even bans any reporters from going into Gaza to do their reports. Not able to protect them? Don't want to the reporters to twist the story to make it sound like Israel's the bad one? Even without the reporters, we know, just from the number. Hundreds of lives have been taken by the hands of these Israelis. If this is not a massacre, disallowing humanitarian aid in to help the civilians, I don't know what is. If Israel says Hamas is using the Palestinian civilians as human shields, Israel is using them as baits.

Now I understand the peribahasa, gajah dengan gajah berlawan, pelanduk mati di tengah-tengah. Something like that ah, long time never take Malay oredi.

K gtg I'm very scared of wasting time now.

Messed-Up

Tuesday, January 06, 2009

I wonder, how does one be a pillar of strength for others when he/she has hardly any strength left?

Procrastination is a killer I tell you. A downright plain murderer. I'm about to be one of it's victims, again.

But, I tried. I tried not to procrastinate. Not working. It's part of me now and I hate it.

My subconscious mind tells me I'm lazy, stupid and selfish :(

You know what? I'm just wasting my time. I'll be back with cheer insyaAllah. It makes me feel worst talking about how lazy, stupid and selfish I am. Lemme go think of more beautiful things. Goodnight. No worries, I'll be fine. I'll get through this, insyaAllah.

I just wonder, do I seem like a hypocrite to you? Nauzubillahi min zalik.

You know, once you start typing you can't stop. (And how I wish this is the case when I write my report.)

I feel bad. I feel worst when I finished reading 'Musafir Cinta' by Taufiqurrahman al-Azizy. I envy Iqbal Maulana. I feel so low. I feel so little. I feel so insignificant. I want to be like a person such as him, loving Allah with all his heart, helping his fellow brothers and sisters who've strayed to find the right path back, reading and memorizing the holy Qur'an and uttering His words to others to jolt them of the truth and to remind them what is right and what is wrong, remembering and following Rasulullah s.a.w's actions and words and instructions, ever ready to accept anything and give anything in the name of Allah, being so pure, so... I'm envious of a person such like Iqbal Maulana.

Hari Asyura... Will my sins of the past year be forgiven? SubhanakAllahumma... Ya Allah, I plead with you for my past sins to be forgiven. I plead with you, the Creator of all creations, to lead my family and I to the right path. And I plead with you too, may we die a death of a Muslim who remembers you and utters your name before the roh is lifted, may we die as pure as when we were born. I plead with you, O Allah the Most forgiving, the Most Powerful, to whom we shall return to. I plead with you, for the safety and peace of my brothers and sisters in Gaza, may they be able to live their lives pleasantly in worship of you or go to you in the state of purest of the pure. May to those suffering right now, you grant them much peace and happiness in the hereafter. O Allah the Almighty, I am but just one of your many humble servants. I am scared of your wrath, yet I hope for your goodness O Allah. For all the goodness you've given me and my family, that all these while I, your shameless servant, has forgotten to thank you for, now I do. All praise be upon You, the Owner of the whole universe. Alhamdulillahi rabb al-amin...

I'm worried, very worried, and I pray to you ya Allah to ease this worry inside me. I, who is such a shameless servant, pray to you and ask you, the Most High, to help me lighten the burden laid upon me and to ease the tasks that lie ahead of me...

Islam

Sunday, January 04, 2009

“This day I have perfected your religion For you, completed My favor upon you, And have chosen for you Islam as your religion.” part of Surah Al-Maidah: 3.

Islam has been perfected. Islam is perfect. Islam was chosen for you. Islam is my religion...

Allah told me so. :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm sad to hear about my brothers and sisters in Palestine. I just heard from Ust Kamsani this afternoon in class that 20 babies were found dead. Babies!! My God... Babies. Innocent babies. Were these babies the ones who sends bombs into Israel that killed those 4 Israelis? It's 20 babies! Not 1! Not even 4, the same no. of Israelis killed.

Defence is just an excuse.

Ok, I'm getting emotional. I pray that help will be sent down to the innocent Palestinians. I'm praying that on the day of Asyura, children of Palestine will be freed and that we'll see the beginning of the end to the sufferings in Gaza.

Untukmu Palestin (For you Palestine)

Berdzikirlah dengan nama tuhanmu
Bermunajatlah di tengah malam
Bertaubatlah padanya penuh rasa hamba
Agar doa kita di.. makbulkan
Agar Palestina kita genggam semula
Agar Palestin bebas di tangan kita
Kembali damai disirami air

Kebenaran Al-Quran dan sunnah
Palestin akan dimiliki lagi
Ingatlah Allah dan hindarkan dosa
Palestin kan aman lagi
Dengan ketaatan dan amalan soleh

Palestine you will regain your land
Remember Allah and stay away from sin
Palestine will be at peace again
And filled with the worship of Allah

Dengan kata dan ketaqwaan
Pada Allah yang maha kuasa
Ketakutan dan kelemahan
Peluru dan dentuman
Bukan lagi penghalang
Pembelaan Allah akan datang
Palestin... Palestin... Palestin
Palestin... Palestin... Pa...lestin

Palestin.MP3 - raihan

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just started a new module at Andalus. I'm in 2nd year already la seh!! Unfortunately eventhough a year has passed, I don't think I became a better Muslim. I'm disappointed in myself! InsyaAllah this year will be better, pray for me yea? InsyaAllah I'll share what I learn with others in this blog (soon... insyaAllah) and may whatever I learn be of benefit to me as well as to others. As I learned in Sejarah Pengajian Islam, one of the Islamic scholars (alamak sorry I can't remember, but I think it's Imam Al-Ghazali) commented something like wisdom is not considered a wisdom until it is shared with others and be of benefit to the community. Do correct me if I'm wrong anyone!

So anyway, the new module is Tasawwur Islam 3 (fyi I haven't taken 1 and 2, but that's how the diploma system is in Andalus so don't ask me lar) and once again we talked about Islamic Law. So far, this is like my 3rd, or rather 4th, module involving Islamic law - Sejarah Perundangan Islam by Ust Fathurrahman, Maqasid syariah by Ust Fuad and Faraidh (part of Islamic Law also lar in my opinion) by Ust Fathurrahman, and I'm loving learning about Islamic Law. It makes Islam even more beautiful... I dunno why Malaysia as an Islamic state (ok, correct me if I'm wrong) faces so many oppositions. Either the Muslim leaders going for Islamic Law did not explain properly what is Islamic Law and what is comprises and what is it's beauty OR... that everything is just so political... Singapore is not an Islamic state. But I can actually see Sg implementing some Islamic Law here. It's not that much different than civil law (we'll be discussing this topic next week insyaAllah).

Ust Kamsani teaching Tasawwur Islam is fun to have. He told jokes, his tone is not monotonous, he's not boring, his explanations are ok etc... Yet, he still delivers everything he's supposed to (some teachers are fun to have but do not really impart the knowledge they're supposed to). Good good, all the more I'd like learning Islamic Law hehehe.
