Excited for graduation

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

21 days to graduation ceremony! And I'm getting my robe tmr with my dear gals Ad, Jamie, Kak Maryam and Kak Raihanah and maybe Liyana too! Can't wait to try it on ;)

Wonder how it feels on that day... Perhaps a sense of achievement... Eh eh macam nak kahwin pulak haha, tu lagi entahlah macam mana agaknya rasanya. Silap haribulan, aku kaku kejung sebab nervous sangat lol.

Amacam korang sume balik camp sihat2 belaka ni? Aku rasa cam aku kena Lung Infection time kecik2 dulu, wheezing feeling. Sacry jugak ah. Tadi gi Ghufran je, sampai Ghufran penat dia semacam, berpeluh-peluh kuyup. Not to mention the phlegm in the nasal passage making me sound super sengau while presenting programmes. And of course Raudah opposite me trying to stiffle her laughter haha.

Dah la gitu, the guys dari last week tak habis2 kacau, macam2 kerenah korang eh, ada je something up your sleeves. Tapi oklah, tak mendak meeting kan... Somehow, sakit2 this week I feel better in meeting, last week cam pissed off giler tak tau kenapa.

Can't wait for Fityan Graduates Photoshoot!! Whee~!

I hope the ukhuwwah yang terbina time ITQAN tidak mati, malah makin bergelegak lagi!

Call from MOE

Oh shooooooooot!

I just received a call from MOE regarding my application for Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science and the caller asked if I'm still interested, and I just went silent!

That one second of hesitation could cost me my future eh!

The reason behind the hesitation is because after all these while, I'm still unclear of my direction. As in, I have in mind what I wanna be, but how to get there is totally a different story considering my current grades.

I've prayed asking Allah to guide me where I'd best be, and I shall be open minded (lapang dada) and accept what He has laid in front of me.

I may be shortlisted for an interview, and if I do, and if I get through, then perhaps that is the best for me.

And I would add to the pool of teachers in my BIG family, as well as in Fityan haha.

But there's no fault in that. I shall hold to Fazillah's words when I got poly instead of JC. "Perhaps that's where you would shine." Just twist it abit and you'll get, "Perhaps that's where I can reach out." I've seen how Raudah tries her best to reach out to her students, and stressful as it seem, she seems to get a form of satisfaction from it.

At the end of the day though, the call was just to inform I MAY get shortlisted for an interview. And that one moment of hesitation could have just blown it away and I may still not be called for an interview...

Oh Allah, please guide me on a straight path, a path of those whom You give nikmat, and not a path of those whom You dislike, neither a path of those who're astray/lost. Amin.

Evangelism

Thursday, April 09, 2009

Evangelism is the practice of attempting to convert people to a religion. The term is used most often in reference to Christianity and Islam, since those two religions mandate that their followers make efforts to recruit as many people as possible into their faith. However, the term may be used for the practice of attempting to convert people to any religion, even if that religion does not specifically require that its followers engage in evangelism. For this reason, there are "evangelists" in Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and other religions, even though those religions are not "evangelical" by nature. The term is sometimes used as a metaphor in a non-religious context as well. - Wikipedia

Evangelism ni macam dakwah in Islam la kalau gitu kan...

FYI tmr 10-12 Apr nights there'll be a Christian Evangelist at the Indoor stadium that's gonna talk about people getting healed after praying. I saw this 'Good News Singapore' poster in facebook. And they didn't mention anything about christianity, but when you visit the website, it mentions about a pastor praying, so I assume it has to be christianity la kan.

And I thought dakwah is like forbidden in sg... Cos I remember last year when we were handling Dakwah Talk II, I went to Darul Arqam to hear about dakwah and we shared with them about what we plan for D'Talk II, we were actually advised not to go ahead with it?! Afraid that IRO/ICA/IRC/I something something people would come down and spot check us what what what. Padahal bukan kita buat apa-apa salah pon. In the end we went ahead anyway and we got support from An-Nahdhah Mosque & MUIS and nothing happened except alhamdulillah the event run well and even though I've yet to personally see the people who attended D'Talk share Islam with non-Muslims, I hope they do so amongst their friends in terms of clearing up doubts why Islam practices certain stuffs or forbids certain stuffs cos that was roughly what we covered during the workshop. Anyone took up Bro Helmy's challenge to do a dakwah video yet? :)

Great day whee!

Wednesday, April 01, 2009

I'd been singing praises to Allah quite a number since yesterday.

Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah. :)

Ok, so maybe I've still yet to get a job that wants me despite applying for like 12 jobs already, and that I've still yet to go for driving lessons, and that I'm still close to hopeless at getting into uni.

BUT, a whole lot of other things have happened that made me SMILE. :D

Sometimes you just gotta focus on the right things.

Haha senang la aku cakap eh, sekarang ni aku dah tak 'going crazy' with Kem Bahasa, EMU, Exam, Tugasan and whatnots. Cam tenang gitu... besttttt. Kalau tak stress to the max, nak fikirkan ni, at the same time nak fikirkan tu dan seterus-menerusnya.

And you know, amidst alot of troubles, there are beauties. Just that sometimes we keep hearing too much of the troubles we forgot about the beauties. It's all a matter of closing the door to the troubles and opening a new one filled with beauty and hope. Aww...

Ya I guess lately I'd been disappointed with alot of people. Partly because they failed to explain clearly and partly my bet also lahh... Kurang dari segi husnul dzannya...

But now that I've cleared the air, fuuuuh cam bersih dunia ni hehehe chehhh takdela gitu.

Oh lemme just share what made me so grateful yesterday...

Firstly, I spent almost every hour of the day doing something useful (and not laze around and sleep) and thus, I accomplished quite alot.

Secondly, I had great food ;)

So let's see how I spent my day yesterday...

Woke up earlier than usual for Subuh to my mother's nagging haha. Following that read abit, settled agenda for NI's meeting, smsed for updates from NI Quartermistress & Treasurer, finished sorting out Fityan Events docs, packed bag, helped to fry macaroni, ate, ironed cllothes for the day, helped 2nd round of frying, pack pack pack off to go for NI meeting.

Alhamdulillah NI meeting was great. Great food. Great people. Great updates. Great feedbacks. Great ideas. Great discussion. Great atmosphere (except the mossies). And eventhough we skipped a few agendas (dang, and I just realised the importance of 1-2 of that agenda but nvm).

After that proceeded to Ghufran, rested for awhile, Zohor and then went down to office to settle Events File. By Asar, done. Went up to pray, then returned to office to discuss general updates about Fityan and EMU. Unfortunately, before I started asking about the upcoming camp (*jeng jeng jeng* look out for it!), I had to rush off. :( Ok that one, unfinished business. But I guess I can wait till Sunday uh to discuss that. Hopefully Ust free.

Left Ghufran, met up with my mum, heard some great news, enjoyed the time with her even though it was like 1hr je (compare eh 1hr with my mum to 4hrs with NI and 3hrs with Fityan, ish ish ish Marl). Went home, chatted with my mum, then went online to apply for a job which looks a good catch (I revised my cover letter to make me look best for the job, and indeed that job seemed so matching with me ah) and chatted with Umairah from Australia. Had a really wonderful chat with her. And while googling and blog-hopping somehow I found an article about her. It was an article I read in BH before!!! That was just super cool. Why didn't I realise earlier??

After Maghrib, ate and watched tv together with my parents. After that yea... ok here I digressed a little... Oopps. Isyak. Then after midnight I got to work with general Fityan updates. Just as I started on questions for camp tuh, I fell asleep. Haha, seems like whole day I was 'prevented' from talking about the camp. And now Ust is out of town so my questions will just have to wait... It's k, insyaAllah ada hikmah.

Oh I would love to talk about the great food yesterday. Had macaroni yesterday. Been eons since I last ate it. And somehow for the second batch (which I brought to NI meeting tu) had just the right amount of everything and tasted wonderful yum yum. Then then, my mum actually bought half a dozen from Donut Empire, woohoo~! Had a Rainbow Choz in the late afternoon and half a Dark Mirror and half a Bee Donut (Signature Donut!!!) at night. Bee Donut was yummiest!! Pity there was no Silly Mon (Signature donut!!!)... My fav donut, and the first Donut from Donut Empire, then known as... opps, what was the name again? Nvm.

To top it up, I had Indian chicken briyani for dinner. Yummeh! My fav food!!!

And these 3 food are all like quite some time/long time/very long time never eat one. *beams*

Eh! I've got another great news! Finally I've set for my first driving lesson - private for this Monday 6pm! Woohoo~! Been waiting for it ;) I plan to take 3 lessons per week for 7-8 weeks (2 months or so) and head-butt a test. I dunno if I'd learn fast enough/ Hopefully I do!!!

I'm one very happy girl today whee~! And I'm going out with my mum later find hp for me. It's supposed to be my family' birthday gift for me but so far no phone has caught my attention. I depend on love at first sight hehehe. Of course I'd love Jun's phone or Kak Raihanah's phone, but waaah budget la me. Especially I'm buying with no contract one...

Oh dear, but I feel soooo weak in my legs. Since TMSN hike up Mount Faber. And walking alot and running yesterday kinda worked them out. I should take a painkiller before my tendonitis acts up. Noooooo!! I've got so many plans set out. There's something to look forward to like every week. Perhaps I'd update another time. Getting quite uncomfortable with this weird weak feeling in the legs :S

K gtg off now. Wish you all a great day ahead!

Lemme end off with Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah.

Eh, perfect timing. Breakfast's here!!
